This guided Niseko backcountry tour is designed for strong intermediate skiers and boarders who would like to learn more about avalanche safety and backcountry travel. Beat the high season rates and crowds and start your season on the right foot with Hokkaido’s best lodge and guiding outfit. Based out of the Black Diamond Lodge, we’ll visit 4 different resorts, complete a 2-day avalanche skills training course, introduce you to backcountry touring and give you a day of cat-skiing at The House of Powder! We’ll even throw in a final sightseeing and party night in Sapporo as the icing on the cake!

While January is known as the deepest and best time of the season to be here, December delivers as much or more snow on average. The backcountry however can be limited at this time due to the thick Japanese bush that requires ample coverage, but the good news is that the ski runs are still relatively free of powderhounds and the our team knows the best places to take you on any given day.
